La Roque-Gageac

Another of the beautiful French villages. This is La Roque-Gageac, situated on the Dordogne. We went for a ride on one of the traditionally shaped boats and saw some of the troglodyte dwellings.

What are "Troglodyte houses"? I thought those were prehistoric creatures.

Hi LL re troglodyte dwellings, I hope I'm using the right term here. It's what our travel notes told us. In this region of France, there are caves which have been used as dwellings in the past, and even now, some houses are built with a modern frontage, but with a caves extending behind into the cliffs.
