Tools of the Trade

For Texture Tuesday 31/5 on Kim Klassen's site.
A photo from my greenhouse.
Using the texture "Breakfree", which already had the gardening-friendly word "soak", I added a couple of other words and used the texture first set at "colour" 79%, then again as a grunge border. I reduced the photo opacity on the right, layering it over a third copy of the texture.

Chelsea Potter

For Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday. Yes, I know today is Wednesday, but if Barack Obama thinks it is 3 years ago, one day is nothing.
Here is a photo of a London pub. I used Kim's texture "Yesteryear", twice in fact and used sketch filters.

Wheels

I like to see wicker baskets on bikes. This is what I did with this one for Kim Klassen's challenge.
Photo A, Duplicate photo A then "Filter Forge photo effects Grunge, Nelly Nero action "Shabby Suicase" Kim Klassen texture "Breakfree at soft light and duplicate layer, inverting the texture the second time. Duplicate photo A then filter, coloured pencil 20% (this will become the top layer). I also blurred some of the outer parts of the photo.

Time for Tea

Another "Texture Tuesday" at Kim's. This was a photo taken with my phone, so not the greatest quality, but using Kim Klassen's texture: "Golden" made it a more interesting. The main part of the process was to use the texture over the photo, set at hard light 87%. I added another photo layer emphasising the edges of the cup. A copy of the original, shows difference.

Cape Goosberry

I was concentrating so hard playing with this photo that I forgot to note down the method I was using. I used Kim Klassen's textures.

Seeds already!

A photo taken today in my garden (yes it has some weeds). Some of the dandelions are in seed already. I used Kim Klassen's latest freebie texture: "Serendipity". In case you are interested, this is what I did with the layers:
Photo, Serendipity using soft light at 65%, Serendipity using hard light at 22% with some deletion over seedhead.

Hellebore

Various hellebores are blooming in the garden now. One in particular has beautiful markings. I used Kim Klassen's texture: "Warmsun" in this.

Kim Klassen's blog party.

Kim Klassen produces wonderful textures and is generous in offering some of them free. I used "Camomile" to take part in her blog party.   http://www.kimklassencafe.com/

Still wading through holiday snaps.

Here are the last two collages from our trip to SW France. The first is of Castres, showing old tanner and weaver houses overhanging the River Agout.

Carcassonne

I'm making slow progress with my holiday photos. It took most of the afternoon to do this collage of Carcassonne- such an impressive walled city.

Christmas is coming

I'm joining in Antoinette's blog train "Christmas Scrapping Freebies" again. She puts in a lot of effort so I wanted to support her. This year, I found it really hard to think of anything different, but have come up with something with quiet colours called "Christmas Joy". There is word art, stamp frames, music notes etc. I'm sending her my preview now.

Cordes sur Ciel

Another page of photos, this time from the the fortified, hilltop village of Cordes sur Ciel. It dates back to 13C and was a Cathar stronghold. Here, the inhabitants prospered and evidence of this is seen today in large town houses built around an inner courtyard.

Freebie, I Love Books

Sorry to those who tried to get this kit yesterday. I am guessing 4shared was overwhelmed.
Please go back to yesterday's post for a link to the new upload of "I Love Books"
